Below you will find some pics and videos that document the life of KotD. If you have anything to contribute, please let me know (I'm not done yet, this will take several days, so be sure to check back).

Video: KotD versus Ragnaros (Filmed sometime around October 2006 by IKT)

* This was the first time we ever cleared MC in one night.
* The raid was led by Slaterok and Artis. They do most of the talking.
* Slaterok had been playing since Beta, and announced his permanent retirement from the game about April 2007. He was a GREAT raid leader. He moved an alt to the guild Malevolence, the most advanced guild on the server prior to TBC, just so he could learn their strategies and teach them to us.
* "Good Lord!" - Fragle
* "Ah crap." - Nerian
* "Battlerez anybody, Druids." - Slaterok
* "This is Marv. Can I get a heal?" - Marvale. Listen for those exact words by the same person in the High King Maulgar video. LOL.
* "Stick a fork in 'im." - Artis
* "We cleared MC in one night!" - Marvale
* "Wow, we one-shotted it!" - Arrowrain

Video: Arclight and Issys: The Wedding in Stormwind (Filmed January 26, 2007 by Shabada)

* A week or so after these two lovebirds married in real life, we held an in-game wedding for them. Arclight later went on to found his own Kul Tiras guild, "Guardian", where his wife and several family members, all KotD members, joined him.
* I had the honor of giving away the bride. I'm the bald dorf who walks her down the aisle.
* Delorian does the honors of joining the bride and groom in marriage. Arclight had arranged for Citrix to do it, but Citrix was still in bed (damned Australians, using a 14 hour time difference as an excuse to be asleep. LOL.)
* I'm not sure who the Best Man was, but I'm thinking Darix. Can anyone confirm or deny?
* Level 300 Party Skill demonstrated by Ullieth at the party in Goldshire.
* Dancing in a pirate hat by...Gracillus, of course!
* We caught the attention of many non-KotD's. Several pesky lowbies joined the groom's procession from Goldshire to Stormwind. During the wedding itself, a few people kneeling on either side of the aisle aren't KotD members, they're just random people who wanted to participate.
* We summoned Saturis to the cathedral, in a room off to the side of the main sanctuary, where I was waiting along with Issys and Eprite (who had left KotD a few weeks prior) for the groom's procession from Goldshire to arrive. Saturis materialized in cat form, impaled on a candelabra that he couldn't get off of until Issys summoned him off of it.
* Blueeye and I set off a HUGE fireworks display outside the cathedral after the wedding, as people were gathering for the trip back to Goldshire for the party. But Shabada either didn't record it, or edited it from the video. :(
* Shabada had an odd history with KotD. He joined summer 2006, but I got a lot of complaints about him and told him if he didn't shape up, I'd boot him. He left on his own. About a month later he petitioned me, via Letara, who championed his cause, to come back. I let him come back. He was an exemplary member thereafter, until sometime in spring 2007 when he created a macro that spammed the "N word" in guild chat. I booted him immediately. He remained active on the guild website for sometime thereafter, and asked me several times to invite him back. I said no. He transferred to a different server a few months later.

Video: KotD versus High King Maulgar (Filmed October 2, 2007 by Jehova)

* This wasn't a significant event in KotD's history, we'd had Maulgar on farm status for months. But it's a decent video.
* Sometime prior to this video, Jehova tried to help me out after a King Maulgar wipe and rezzed my pet. It was then that we learned that healers rezzing pets after a wipe in Gruul's Lair was a VERY bad idea...let's just say the results increased our repair bills that day. Forever after that, we always made jokes, when Jehova was present, that there was to be NO pet rezzing by non-hunters.
* Jehova is one of my oldest WoW friends. He and I first started questing together when we were about level 35 or so, but were in different guilds until I managed to talk him into joining my guild (Archaic Resistence) just prior to that guild's merger into KotD.

"Goodbye" posts are being stickied in the Guild Business forum. There's also a stickied post there where I'm trying to keep track of where everyone went (or will go).

Hello Knights of the Dawn!

KotD may not exist anymore, but its legacy does.

This website will remain up for the forseeable future. I hope that we former KotD's will use it to stay in touch. Post here...tell us what you're doing, new developments in your real life, how your new guild is doing, or just say hello.

I have some videos and pics that I intend to put on this website to document KotD's long and glorious history. If you have something to contribute, please send to RBenke at Comcast dot net, and I'll post it here.

As others have said in the guild forum, please know that I'm at your disposal - heroics, quests, leveling your alts, etc. I made many friends during the year and a half that I helped to lead KotD, and the fact that we're now in different guilds doesn't change the fact that you're still my friends. We have way too long a history together for that to change.

As hard as it was to leave KotD, I don't regret doing it. I needed a shakeup that I suspect many of you also needed. I can't deny that seeing KotD come to an end makes me very sad.  I found a certain level of comfort in the idea that I could always come back. Now that that option is gone, I feel a little lost. But I'm happy where I am now, and I sincerely hope all of you have found (or will find) new homes where you will be happy, too.

Good luck to everyone in their WoWing. Remember it's just a game. Guilds come and go...KotD lasted far longer than most, and that's something to be proud of. The friendships we form in this game are real...and they can be enduring if we want them to be. My days as a member of KotD will always be counted as days well spent. I've grown as a person by having had the opportunity to meet and interact with such an amazing and diverse group of people. I salute all of you, and will remain your friend. Always feel free to look me up to say hello or to run an instance.

Ullieth
